Visio Diagram

Bring Visio diagrams to life with interactive graphics and real-time status readings

The NetkaView Network Manager Visio Diagram Module shows the Visio-based network set-up complete with live status readings of network equipment, providing real-time monitoring capabilities.

Microsoft Visio is a popular program used by engineers to design network systems. However, Visio is also restrictive. The diagrams are static and sometimes impractical. Usually, after the design is completed and the network is built, the Visio documents are simply filed away in a folder. When a problem occurs, engineers must then retrieve the diagrams to study the network set-up and how the equipment is connected – a highly time consuming process, especially for larger networks. If the Visio diagrams could be capable of displaying live network status and not just displayed on paper or as a static digital file, network administrators would be able to work more efficiently and respond to problems more quickly.

The NetkaView Network Manager Visio Diagram Module enhances the Visio program and truly brings it to life. Rather than simply having the diagrams as a static digital file or on paper, the module shows the Visio-based network set-up complete with live status readings of network equipment. This provides real-time monitoring capabilities along with the advantages of using easily understandable and attractive Visio-based designs.

The NetkaView Network Manager Visio Diagram Module reports the status and connection between all the network equipment via a color-coded system. Green, gray and red lines signify the status of the equipment – whether they are working normally, disrupted due to a technical malfunction or forced to shut down, respectively. Network managers can also zoom in to view details of the traffic flow between all network equipment at any given time.

In addition, the module shows the LAN code that connects to each piece of equipment, so when a problem occurs, administrators immediately know where to look without having to check all LAN lines. This feature creates efficiencies and saves time, particularly for large organizations and service providers with hundreds of LAN lines throughout the network.
